122 y 123.- Oviedo y Covadonga 1958 (Asturias)

Google translation:

Two postcards of 136 x 87 mm, with jagged edges, printed on paper in black and white photo "brightness" (they were called that by having the shiny surface) for Zaragoza EDICIONES ARRIBAS of cards issued in Spain from the Spanish Civil War.

Of these two cards, for Oviedo is stamped with a stamp bearing the portrait of Francisco Franco, Spanish head of state at that time, 50 cents postmarked on August 12, 1958 in Oviedo and addressed to Miss Carmen of Malaga.

In the face of it there are four photographs into a mosaic that occupy the entire surface, with a poster in the middle where it says "Oviedo", the four photos are at: Avenida de José Antonio, Calle del Marqués de Santa Cruz, Asturias Landscape and Porlier Square.

The text on the back is this: "Oviedo August 12, 1958. Dear Carmen: Tuesday morning we left for Pontevedra, Torrelavega, Santander, yesterday it rained a little in the way and makes a nice cool, the beach is beautiful Gijón and has a lot of fame had thousands of swimmers but do not really feel like the bathroom because the sun is not like that, now the beaches are fine white sand and do not have a stone, the trip will do very well, each it pays its own, and I have wanted to get all tired. A big hug. Pepe "

Draw several conclusions from the text are two travelers in the north of Spain (it says that everyone pays his own), the person writing this post card addressed to Malaga and it is probable that she lived in that city and describes what it draws attention to the fineness and color as the sand of the beach of Gijón compared with the ones who know Malaga dark and stones of various sizes, speaks of the pleasant temperatures (it is August) which does not encourage a bath when Malaga happen quite another. We can not deduce much more data but to analyze the second postal much information we will complete the first.

As for the second fotopostal can say it is the same EDICIONES ARRIBAS of Zaragoza and of a kind "brightness" on the front are 5 images, four corners (Cave of Our Lady, Lady Chapel, View Sanctuary and the Cathedral) and an oval in the middle with the image of Our Lady of Covadonda, below is a poster that says "Covadonga", these images occupy the entire space.

The reverse is the same as the one described card is not stamped as that is clear from the letter was accompanied by a letter with the rest of the text and therefore had to put in an envelope (letter and postcard) written text is as follows:

"Unquera August 12, 1958. Dear Carmen: after visiting the Grotto of Our Lady of Covadonga, en route to Santander, we had the bad luck to give him the famous Luis headache with vomiting, headache, etc. And unable to continue more time in that state, Pepe told me, by God we will stop at this hostel because I do not get to Santander, I'm going to die, so she had not a room, lay down, this occurred on 6 of Later, I'm writing now is 8 and continues lying, we'll see what it takes, to me it seems that we're going to have to stay overnight here, and indeed, it is 10 pm and until has not been finally woken up and decided to stay here. vermeos if tomorrow I am right and continue traveling to Torrelavega that is very close to here, and he has family in that. Today it before arriving back from lunch Covadonga FALLABA ASTURIANA (FABADA ASTURIANA means) which is a kind of bean stew with chorizo, blood sausage, bacon, etc., the food here is very typical of Asturias is an extraordinary food and then just imagine that with a well filled dish that took only I had enough, not if the illness of Louis could be that, but no, I do not think it was because (CONTINUED ON THE LETTER) "

In analyzing this second text information in a broadened considerably, first traveling from Santander and Asturias to stop, because they are evil Luis, in the village of Unquera (Cantabria) where they will overnight. Travel Luis and Pepe, like two friends should go with own car. Talk of the typical food of Asturias, which must not have heard before because they became confused on the name and compares it with a popular stew over their land. Pepe, who does the writing lisp or seseaba as it confuses these letters in different words and write a lot, this is the second post on the same day and supplement it with an accompanying letter so we conclude that the submitted his girlfriend Carmen (the deal is close but not that of a husband).

What has become of our heroes? Here we stayed with this snapshot that shows us a summer traveler in 1958, narrating his experience and eager to return to their city.

The texts are handwritten in blue ink pen.
